1/2-For my use of GURPS in the twilight 2000 setting as an example, I award one XP for attendance, one XP if the characters were in danger (I usually ask The Players if they think they were in danger, they are very frank about that), one award for a superior RP moment voted on by The Players.
I would not have tagged you as a GURPS stan. No wonder you hate Savage Worlds so much.
Well GURPS has incentives for you to *take* these kinds of traits but not to *use* them in play, which can of course be abused by minmaxers at character creation. That’s one of my main problems with GURPS, even though I love that system 😋

Was that the adaptation of the STAR FLEET TTRPG that had a GURPS edition? I remember spying a copy at my local games shop one time.
Personally I've liked both GURPS and OSR ways to deal with this. GURPS you get penalties, but you also get bonus points to offset it; it's a myth that you get sharper other senses or whatever, but hey, game balance, free points. In OSR, numbers have swings anyway, who cares about a -1 or -2.
(2) it’s a 180 degree turn from the GURPS system - which was probably the poorest fit of game to IP ever. (God knows how Phil pulled off that miracle.) (3) it’s gone all “narrative” now with traits and consequences and no numbers on the character sheets. (Well, everyone has 4 luck points.)
In GURPS 4E that's Morph (Universal, One Body Part Only, Unlimited Morph Memory, Takes Extra Time).. 40 points, but only because the cap is -80% on limitations. Probably cheaper to take a limited version of Hermaphromorph (5 points, limits put it down to 1 point.. a Perk).
Me too! There's more in the loft, all of my GURPS stuff and other books and comics, I expect to fill another shelf or two.
