The Plex CD writers I’d owned were all excellent burners. My first ever CDRW drive was a 2x HP CD Burner and that was rubbish.

I have recordable cd/dvd, their label says CDRW or DVDRW (Had to check them right now). If you put these in your drive the program shows a new option called "Erase disc". Just take 5 min to effectively write all the disc and be usable again.

Oh snap. Just realized that was a 4GB Gateway. But it had the CDRW drive.

I lived through those days where Philips sold me a “buffer ahead CDRW” drive to prevent it making a coaster because I wiggled the mouse during a burn or a rip. So the whole time it was overpriced crap consumer Windows PC hardware… Btw your thread is fascinating thanks for sharing this info.

Iirc, they weren't great at the time. I used them in college for a couple years before CDRW existed and I think one of my disks got corrupted somehow, losing a week of work

My First Internet AOL Dial-up I overclocked the modem to 19.2 and had to wait until after 9pm due to the number being Local Long Distance. Then we had to pay by the minute with certain time plans being available. If you went over it was so much a minute. I installed the modem and 16x CDRW myself

Most of them on average are around 45-50 meg ( per Lp) so divide that by 700. I’ve got an ASUS Burner that does CD, CDRW, DVD’s pretty sure they make an external so simply plug it in any usb and go. The ASUS software that comes with it make it cake walk easy.

Є таке. Я свій перший cdrw драйв купив саме бо шкода було щось видаляти, а місце на 2gb диску дуже швидко закінчувалась. Але зараз у мене для data hoarding нас. На компі - ні. Диск C виключно системний, а він вже теж закінчується. Так що це не у мене, а у вінди data hoarding )
