Scaling up and shaping up large language models increased their tendency to provide sensible yet incorrect answers at difficulty levels humans cannot supervise, highlighting the need for a shift in AI design towards reliability, according to a paper in Nature. go.nature.com/4eCAnis 🧪

This is figure 1, which shows key indicators for several models in GPT (OpenAI), LLaMA (Meta) and BLOOM (BigScience) families.

I have a client with a Green main colour brand. It always makes for an interesting discussion when I show them #dataviz style guide options that never even use Green as encoding. BI Teams are usually very hard on their use of traffic light schemes, but it doesn't *have to* be this way. 📊

Literacies are a fascinating skill we've cultivated. Beyond learning the functional part of reading, we use the written word as a primary means to learn and transmit ideas. Truly powerful, if you really consider it. Charts can work this way too, kinda. 📊

On a small project and realizing again that I love having different subjects as 'material'. The whoa-I-didn't-know this and then coming up with ways of showing relations, sizes, portions, timelines, it's all so fulfilling to do! I ❤️ creating data illustrations. #dataviz

I made an attempt at a bsky psychometrics starter pack with people who work on or largely with psychometric tools! Please reskeet and (selfl!)nominate to help me fill my many and varied blind spots and make this a useful and balanced resource #rstats#psychometricsgo.bsky.app/6oGLp7D
