i fucking kid you not there are Arizona republicans who voted for Kari Lake's primary opponent who are now Harris/Gallego the average voter has a brain we ideological mortals cannot understand
Amid the fractal stupidity of Tesla's "robotaxi" event, this little nugget stood out: no roads have inductive charging, and inductive charging tops out at 50 kW anyway (vs 350 kW for fast plug chargers), so basically these robotaxis will either charge slow or require a massive rebuild of all roads.
"...robotaxi will have no charging plug and will depend on wireless charging coils embedded in roadways instead." lol. lmao. futurism.com/the-byte/elo...
According to Elon Musk, Tesla's long-awaited Cybercab robotaxi will have no charging plug and will depend on wireless charging coils instead.
There isn't one and there won't be one. If Trump loses, we will have sped past easiest and most effective way to stop him. Everything downstream of that is harder and less effective. If Trump wins the horrors happen. Any wins we notch will be minor and exist on the margins.
I contacted the American Heritage Museum in Hudson that was holding the event attended by the Nazi re-enactors who later appeared at the nearby Kith and Kin restaurant still wearing SS garb: I received what I think was a very good response from the museumās president this morning.
The coverage now is "How did Harris lose her momentum?" when her polling position is the same now as it was six weeks ago. If anything, the race is getting closer because Trump is getting more popular as he presses an explicitly ethnonationalist agenda, which is really uncomfortable to wrestle with.
In 2011 David Brooks spoke on my campus and he met with the students in my History of American Conservatism class. The students were especially interested in the historically fuzzy boundary between conservatism and the far right, and Brooks dismissively pooh pooh-ed such questions as liberal bias.
David Brooks confesses that 30% of the time he roots for a full tilt fascist takeover & the rest of the time he feels politically at odds with himself āthese days I find myself rooting for the Democrats about 70 percent of the timeā¦ But my new suit is ill-fittingā www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
A longtime conservative, alienated by Trumpism, tries to come to terms with life on the moderate edge of the Democratic Party.
threads really is social media for boring people and AI pretending to be boring people
"the Rod of Iron Freedom Festival" sounds like it should be something very different from whatever this is
Very Smart Reporters are going to act like US v. Skrmetti only implicates gender-affirming care for trans kids. In fact, it could allow sex discrimination in many other kinds of medical care. Yes, like birth control. Me in @tnr.bsky.social on how our rights are intertwined:
The overturning of Roe was always going to affect more than just abortion, and weāre about to find out how bad it can get.
