Teaching my kid a nursery song: "I don't answer questions, am I free to go? I don't answer questions, am I free to go? Case law says you have five minutes but this is going pretty slow, so I don't answer questions, am I free to go?"
In the UK it is a perfect fit for "My old man's a dustman" (remove "pretty")
Kind of works if you sing it to "Old MacDonald"
I’m lecturing at a law school soon on coercion/interrogation/confessions/pleas and, with your permission, would like to include a screen shot of this?
Q about case law and time limits: what about when police call you? They call you on a recorded line, saying you don’t “have” to talk. Obviously the move is hang up or say you won’t talk without a lawyer. But police are coercive as hell. How long do they have to try and trick people?
