Are you planning on taking a ballot selfie or a ballot pic? Know before go, so you don't break the law. In AZ you are not allowed to take any pic within 75ft of a polling place or ballot box. 👋
Is there a link to the image?
NM does have signs to turn off cell phones. But, there's not a penal code listed, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I left mine on vibrate, as I was expecting a medical call.
PA is inaccurate. It is still illegal to post your actual ballot for others to see as well as including others' ballots (even inadvertently, which imo makes sense), and official state guidance recommends waiting until after you leave the polling place www.attorneygeneral.gov/resources/vo...
I'm going to take a picture of my completed ballot for ME.😉
Took mine! Tune into my profile for more info 🤓
In Florida, I'm under the impression that the law says no photography in a polling place, not specifically selfies. I think it's supposed to protect privacy. If you're voting by mail or have a sample ballot at home, you could take your selfie anywhere other than the place you vote and you'd be okay
Since it's not visible at this level of resolution: the legality of ballot selfies in the District of Columbia isn't entirely clear. (However, a spokesperson for the Board of Elections told Vox in 2020 that there was nothing to prevent them, so maybe it should be a "yes.")
I don't understand. How is this type of law legal at all under the first amendment? Like, is the answer "just because?" Seems like pure political speech.
In Texas, you're technically not allowed to have your phone out at all at the polling place, or while in line. So, hope you didn't need to take that call during your hour in line. Or didn't want to read something.
