Higher ed friends: students are hit with a lot of rules, deadlines, and policies when classes started. Reminders don't mean they aren't taking college seriously. Your ADHD students will appreciate the reminders and I'm guessing they won't be the only ones. Extend some grace these first few weeks!
It's really interesting when you get accommodations letters for disabled students and you can say to them (and yourself), "All of these are already addressed in my course for all students because I run an accessible classroom." Just sayin! #HigherEd#FacDev#AcademicSky

This is a public health failure. Again. The public health emergency (which provided funding) was rescinded with Biden saying âwe have the toolsâ to manage COVID. But the tools are inaccessible. Vaccines are expensive. Masks are being banned. Support & get mutual aid, including free n95s and tests:
This is story is one of the nearly 200 (that we know about) of cops exploiting young people they encounter through the "Explorer" program. The program is supposed to foster an interest in policing in young people, but the cops are using it to recruit victims. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
Interesting way to say the IDF shot at a UN vehicle.
The World Food Programme is freezing employee movement in Gaza after one of its vehicles was targeted with repeated gunfire just meters from an Israeli checkpoint, according to a statement by the humanitarian agency.
A photo released by the WFP showed multiple bullet pock marks in the driverâs side window; in total, at least ten bullets hit the vehicle, according to the agency.
Enraging and exhausting. I hate it here.
I'm glad this little tip resonated with lots of people. I do want to clarify a couple of things. 1) I meant this tip for people who actually have ADHD. Not in that way that people sometimes use it informally to just talk about forgetting or being a little scatterbrained. bsky.app/profile/polo...
How do you organize your sources? Mine were a hot mess until I discovered citation management software in grad school (back when Mendely was good). Now that it's not, what systems/software do you use? #PhDsky#AcWri#AcademicSky
