This morning I visited an old mine site which used to produce minerals such as pyrite, galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite. I haven’t yet been able to identify my stash of goodies but it was great fun. I just love sitting in the dirt for hours on end, chipping away with my pick and trowel!

I can also obtain zinc from sphalerite and create brass from copper and zinc.
